Online Fall Groups For Adoptive Parents 2022-23!

What does self-care look like for you, as an adoptive parent?

FAQ’s for Online Adoption Groups

How did you decide to run these groups for adoptive parents?

I’ve had the privilege of seeing adoptees through the life cycle for over 20 years. Much of what adoptees say in sessions hasn’t ever been spoken before, let alone to their adoptive parents. I don’t want to be the holder of general insight and guidance that adoptive parents wouldn’t otherwise be able to access.

How are groups more helpful than other resources for adoptive parents?

You do so much for your child! But, these groups are as much for you as they are for them! Often, they have more resources and help than you do! You deserve to the opportunity to get the guidance, support and insight that you need.

Which group is appropriate for me?

The Facebook Group is great for ALL adoptive parents regardless of your  of your child. It’s once a month and even if you can’t join live and chat in you can watch it later! The first Facebook Live meeting is Tuesday September 20th, 2021 at 10:30 am EST. Please register in advance so I can make sure that you’re in the group beforehand!

The ATM Group is for adoptive parents whose teens/young adults have ongoing mental health issues. It was inspired by a parent who told me that it’s hard to be the one whose child has the worst problems. In this group, we’ll be able to take the time we need to get to know each family. It’s twice a month on Tuesdays at 10:30 am EST on Zoom.

What are the fees?

The Facebook Group is $525 for the year (through June).
The ATM Group is ($1500 which is less than $200 a month!).

I’m offering two online groups this fall!

The Eight-Month Online Informational Group For Adoptive Parents (via Facebook) is for all adoptive parents. I will offer monthly sessions on topics from my book, “Parenting In The Eye Of The Storm: The Adoptive Parent’s Guide To Navigating The Teen Years,” such as unrescuing and envisioning the future and other important topics such as identity, birth parents and school. This group is good for ALL adoptive parents. The one-time is $525.

The Adoption, Teenhood & Mental Health Group is for adoptive parents whose teens or young adults are struggling with significant mental health issues. It will meet via Zoom two Tuesdays a month at 10:30 am EST. The fee is $1500, which works out to less than $200 a month from October through June. If you need to break up the payments, let’s figure that out! Learn more/register for the ATM Group at
